NEW YEAR, NEW RECYCLING SERVICE FOR CHISWICK PARK

ECT appointed to collect and recycle office materials A new, on-site recycling service for Chiswick Park, the office development in West London means office workers can make, and keep, a New Year’s resolution to recycle more in 2005.
ECT, the UK’s leading community recycling organisation has been appointed to deliver the new service, initially for a three month period. From January, ECT will collect recyclable materials including paper, glass, cardboard, toner cartridges and wooden pallets from the Park once a week.
Nevil Tideswell, Operations Manager, ECT says: ‘We are delighted to help businesses on Chiswick Park make a New Year’s resolution to recycle more! We aim to make it as easy as possible for businesses to be greener and make a positive impact on the environment.’
Mark Chapman, Operations Director, Chiswick Park Estate Management says: ‘We took the decision to provide easy to use recycling services because it best supports the needs of our Guest companies and encourages the greatest level of participation from all on the Park. It is an investment which will pay green dividends in the future and continue with the Park’s commitment to offering industry leading environmental services.’
Formed in 1979 as part of Ealing Voluntary Service Council, ECT started life with just three vehicles, providing a transport service to Ealing residents. Twenty-five years later, ECT has grown into a leading not-for-profit organisation providing recycling, transport and engineering services. ECT Chief Executive Stephen Sears was this year named Social Entrepreneur of the Year.
Chiswick Park is an award winning development that opened in 2000. The developers Stanhope PLC and architects Richard Rogers Partnership went to great lengths to ensure that environmental considerations were a core of the Park’s innovative design. The appointment of ECT and the new service they will offer is a further step in Chiswick Park Estate Management’s commitment to leading in the area of environmental management.
