A NEW DAWN FOR RECYCLING SERVICES IN DONCASTER

DAWN Environmental a new joint venture between Community West Recycling Partnership and the UK’s leading community recycling organisation; ECT Recycling, will be providing doorstep recycling services to 68,000 households in the north and west of the borough from the 2nd April on behalf of Doncaster Council.

“We have joined forces to create DAWN Environmental in an exciting new venture, which will combine the expertise, capability and resources of ECT Recycling; the UK’s largest community recycling organisation, with the local knowledge and experience of the Community West Recycling Partnership.

“We will ensure that Dawn Environmental very much remains a part of the local community”. Says Rhona Coulter, ECT’s Operations Director, who has been in charge of helping set up the new service.

Doncaster Council’s Strategy Director for Neighbourhoods, Communities and Children’s Services said “This is great news for Doncaster. We are continually improving recycling facilities and this is another step towards ensuring more and more materials can be collected from the doorsteps of all our residents”.

DAWN Environmental have a two year contract to provide a weekly doorstep recycling service for paper, glass, cans, textiles, mobiles and toners, plastics and yellow pages.

Residents in the north of the borough will join residents in the west of the borough this summer in being able to add plastic bottles to the items they can recycle on their doorstep. DAWN will also be extending the schools and community outreach programme to residents, schools and community groups later this year.
