May Gurney Environmental Services works in partnership with Somerset Waste Partnership (partner authorities are Somerset County Council, Sedgemoor, South Somerset, Mendip and West Somerset District Councils and Taunton Deane Borough Council) to deliver a range of award winning recycling services.
Somerset Waste Partnership (SWP) manages waste collection, recycling and disposal services for all 228,000 Somerset homes, aiming to increase recycling levels to 50 per cent and beyond and to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill. For more information visit www.recyclesomerset.info

Domestic Refuse Collections
Taunton Deane - Refuse collections are a fortnightly service operated by May Gurney Environmental Services with the Somerset Waste Partnership and Taunton Deane Borough Council. All refuse must be left at the boundary of the property on collection day, in sacks, tied, or in a refuse bin with the lid shut ready for collection. Bulky Waste Collections
May Gurney Environmental Services offer a “bulky waste” service for household items that are large in nature or items that cannot be recycled. The service is administered by the local authority and operated by May Gurney Environmental Services.
Clinical Waste Collections
May Gurney Environmental Services offer a clinical waste service on behalf of the local councils and waste partnership. Clinical waste is any waste that is hazardous to health; this includes drugs, pharmaceutical products, swabs or dressings, syringes needles, or other sharp objects.
